Answers to common questions

Where can we park?

Swanage is a Victorian town and therefore was built when cars were not in the plan. We are lucky enough to have our own off road parking with space for 6 cars on a first come first served basis, very few Hotels/B&Bs in Swanage can boast better.

This can be found around the rear of Millbrook and is accessed via Court Road. Millbrook is also in an unrestricted parking area, you can park out the front on Kings Road, or on Court Road as well as other side roads such as Locarno Road (by Launderette).

Using our Car Park

We have space for 6 cars, on a first come first served basis. However, in order to fit 6 on 2 cars need to park in front of others. The end bays are nose to nose, the other crosses 2 bays. This means that if fully used 3 cars are blocked in. Therefore we ask that anyone who parks in these bays to leave their keys in their rooms just in case an emergency arises and those blocked cars need to get out. If you get blocked by others don’t worry as we know who is blocking you in and if you are going out for the day we can ask guests to move. If you are not happy leaving your keys then we ask that you park on the road, it could be you who is blocked in when an emergency arises.

Are you dog friendly?

As much as we love dogs we do not accept dogs or any other pets in our guest house.

Is Millbrook a non smoking guest house?

We do not allow smoking in any of our rooms or guest areas and will ask any guests found to have smoked to leave. However we do have a bench at the front of the house as well as a cigarette bin for smokers to use.

When can we Check In / Out?

Check in time is from 4pm until 9pm, check out is up to 10:30.
However, should you arrive earlier you are welcome to park up and ring the bell, if we are in and your room is ready we are more than happy to check you in. If you need to leave early you can settle up the evening before and leave key in an agreed place.
If you are arriving (or leaving) by Public Transport and need to leave cases etc then please let us know so we can arrange something, we will always do what ever we can to make your arrival and departure as easy as possible.

What is your cancellation policy?

When you book we take a single night payment as deposit. If you give us more than 14 days notice we will refund your deposit less £20. Notice of less than 14 days will be charged the full 1 night amount. Less than 2 days notice will result in a 2 night charge. In the case of a No Show you will be charged for your full stay. In the case of a reduced stay we will still charge the full booking amount. Although not obliged to, in the case of a cancellation we may try to re-let the room(s) and if we do so will refund the re-let nights less a £20 charge.
We strongly recommend you take out travel insurance to cover such eventualities.

How can we pay?

Deposits can be paid by credit/debit card or bank transfer (account details on request), We also accept cheques but the booking will not be confirmed until the cheque has cleared. The remaining balance can be paid by Cash, Credit or Debit card upon arrival or departure. Please note we charge 1% for all credit card transactions.
